I first discovered Botanica Oggun about a year while walking through my neighborhood. I've been a regular customer since then and have come to know Mike and Yolanda fairly well. In fact, I consider them family at this point. A few months ago I approached Mike about something to spice up my sex life. Well, he realized that what I was really looking for was love--not just sex. He sent me out for a couple of supplies and prepared a job for me to bring my true love to me. While we were working on the love spell, he had me focus on and visualize very specific things that I wanted in a mate--romantically, sexually, and emotionally. Afterwards he gave me a reading in which he discovered why I hadn't been able to receive the love that I so desperately needed. He uncovered events from almost 10 years ago that were blocking any chance of minding my ideal mate. He told me what needed to be done and suggested some life changes that would facilitate my goal. He told me that once I cleansed away the negativity in my life and worked on several aspects of my life, that I would meet the one meant for me. He told me that it would be big and that it would last forever. I went home from my reading and took a long, hard look at myself. I didn't like what I saw at all, so I followed Mike's advice and worked through some of my personal issues. I wasn't even thinking of love at this point because I wouldn't want anyone who would be attracted to the negative mess that I was. My attitude and outlook on life changed dramatically. Family and friends noticed these changes immediately. They were asking if I was on medication or seeing a therapist. They couldn't believe the positive changes in my personality and attitude. Well, I was so happy and content with my new life that I totally forgot the love-work that Mike had done for me. For the first time in my life I felt whole and didn't feel the need for anyone to give my life meaning. Well, they say that when you quit looking, you someone will find you. When I met the man that Mike had helped bring into my life, I was totally surprised. I wasn't even looking--it just happened. He was EVERYTHING that I had asked for. I mean every last single detail was there (and I was VERY specific in what I wanted). We fell in love immediately and knew right away that we would grow old together. We just exchanged rings along with a lifelong commitment to each other. Thanks to Mike, my guy and myself have found each other and are looking for a house to start our lives together.

A friend told me about Botanica Oggun and how much it had help her. Since I was already seeing someone for my problems I did not go when she told me I should, but after taking my mom and seeing how honest Mike was and the results she had I decide to go. It is great to meet someone who will be brutally honest with you enough to make you realize and see things that were in front of your face but you never wanted to see. I felt sad, depressed, thought about my past a lot and did not see all the positive things around me. I just got my limpia and feel better and I have started to see positive things around me. I would definitely recommend for anyone who is lost, trouble, dreams evil-bad dreams, and feels negative around them to go see Mike. He will help you get past your troubles and see life in a different way. You should go and dont wait!

Mike did good work for me. I recently was involved in a bitter child custody case and I got more time with my daughters. I would recommend Botanica Oggun. If you find yourself in need of help go to Mike. His great.

I love this botanica! Every time I go there, I never want to leave, because it is so warm and calm. And Mike and Yolanda are simply amazing beautiful souls. They are as real as it gets. I am new to this path, and a couple of weeks ago, Mike gave me the 'kick in the pants' I needed to connect to my ancestors in such a real way! Mike will tell you like it is. Yolanda and Mike always make you feel welcome. You have to go there to experience this, words are not enough! Go there and experience, you will not be disappointed! What are you waiting for? GO!!

From the moment i walked in the door i felt at home. MIke was honest and straight to the punch. People often run from themselves and truth, but mike invites you to find yourself through yourself and the ancestors. His insight helped provide information to me and my lady to better our lives and our future. I cant put into words the appreciation from myself and my ancestors thanks.

mike, helped me out alot when i needed help i'm a happier person, my marriage is now on the right track, my kids are getting better with their relationship with their girlfriends. i've known mike and yolanda for many years i was very happy for them when they said that they were going to open up a business. when i walk in there place of business i feel very welcomed.

Hello to every one. I can't put my name down. but I can tell you. I am a very happy custumer from Botanica Oggun. I went to see Mike mid.May to do some work for me. I wanted to get together with someone. While Mike was working on my request. He find out I was in very bad danger.He went out of his way to do a special cleaning and protection for me . I knew I was about to be deploy with the army. Mid Jun. I landed in afghanistan where I am today. Back in austin during my work with mike. he did his work for my request. I am a very hard to believe person But I can tell you I been in several firefights. During those firefights. for some reason something is telling me about the danger. One time while I was in my base I was in a guard point and some kind of voice told me to move to a diff. position. I went to a diff. position with less protection soon after I moved away. a RPG's round hit the main guard point right there were I was . but because I moved away. nothing happen to me.
in another time I was in patrol and we went to a village know to be friendly to us. but the same voice told me to keep my eyes open and wow we got attack as soon as we arrived to the village.
I don't what will happen to me . But I can tell you the work mike did for me really works. By the way I reunited with the person I wanted to be with. As soon I go back to the states I plan to go and see mike and thank him again. I really recommend mike to any body who need kind of protection work and any special help.

From the moment I walked into Botanica Oggun I felt like new. The Botanica gave me a feeling of comfort, I have never felt more relaxed. I love how Mike and Yolanda listen to everything you have to say and feel. Because of the Botanica and the Saints I have learned alot about myself and am proud to say I've changed. I wish I could spend more time at the Botanica because it really does make me feel that much better. My family and I have never been closer and that is the most wonderful feelimg in the world. Mike and Yolanda you guys are the best!
My first visit to Botanica Oggun was in January 2008. Since that time I've shared with everyone I know, of how this unforgettable shop and how Santo Mike has changed my life. I had felt lost for so long and Mike gave me insight to the truth in my life. I feel that I am finally awake in this life. The last few months have been amazing and ever changing for me. Mike helped save my life. I have lost 50 lbs, left a career I was enslaved to, gained my confidence back. I haven't felt this happy and peaceful in my whole life. Well I have been visiting with Padreno for a few months now. I had a big court case coming up where I was looking at 2-3 years in state jail or county. 2 drug charges and a domestic case. With his help and my faith that I stayed true to, I was able to overcome this case and got probation, drug charges dropped. I was literally surprised about all the outcome but knew that my Saints and my Padreno got me out of it. Most importantly, my faith. I'm really happy for his patience and guidance for me,even at times when I can be really frustrating to talk to. My faith is stronger than it ever has been and will be. But I still have a lot more work to do. And all in all I appreciate all the love and faith that He and His Wife have for me even when I am difficult and have let down. I also continue to believe in my Saints and know that they are watching my every move or our every move.

Who would have though I could come so far in such a short period of time.
I have never experienced ANYTHING like this ever before. Never have I been a man of much faith. When I met Mike I was drinking.......A LOT. Everyday i would wake up with a hangover and nothing to look forward to. Just another crappy day.
Mike helped me realize that each day I wake up is a blessing. I now understand how precious life is and not to under estimate myself. My outlook on everything about life in general has changed. I have found love and I am excited to see what the future holds for me. Through the power of my faith in my saints the possibilities are endless.
Thank you so much Mike & Yolanda. in the past 6 weeks I have learned more about myself and excelled as human being more so than I ever thought I could. You are amazing and I have much love for you both.

I am very grateful to have come across this wonderful shop. The owner's are absolutely wonderful. Mike and Yolanda give me individual attention every time I go there regardless of how busy they are. I have had two readings and was amazed how accurate they were. Everytime I leave there, I leave feeling refreshed and like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. I will definately become a regular patron of this establishment.

This is the best place ever! If you are ever in doubt and feel that everything in your life is going wrong; you need to visit BONTANICA OGGUN! When I entered this place I felt like bricks where lifted off my shoulders and my experience was breath taking when I finally realized what was going on with me. Thanks to the GREATEST SANTERO I will ever know. I appreciate everything he has done for me and I will continue to visit him to absorb the knowledge he gives out! My fiance and I visited Botanica Oggun on June 10th and 12th as part of our research trip to Austin. Since our religion is integral to our lives what better way than to meet the folks at Botanica Oggun! First off Yolanda (co owner) has got to be one of the kindest, quiet spirited people I have EVER met and that alone is saying a lot. She immediately made us feel welcome as soon as we entered the Botanica.
We have been initiated into this religion by others but were BOTH amazed at how blunt yet accurate Mike was with our readings. Mike (Owener) was explicit and extremely informative not only on what our spiritual ailments were, but also HOW to fix them. If I had gone to Austin strictly to go to this Botanica, this alone would have made my trip. To the point that we spent several hours of 2 days of our 4 day trip at this quiet/quaint place. Although a small/comfortable place it had MORE than most larger botanicas I have visited in the past with extremely reasonable prices for their products. Some of which are hand made by Mike.
We thank both Mike and Yolanda for the visit we made with them. We simply went to TRY it out and instead had life changing experiences and a definite pathway for our lives. We love both of you and we will DEFINITELY being seeing much more of both of them once we move to Austin!!!

Where to start? I've know Mike & Yolanda for years. Their warmth and sincerity radiates as soon as you walk in their shop. You feel a sense of calmness. Mike has seen me through times in my life that I felt lost and alone. His spirtual guidance and realness has showed me direction and has given me peace. I first walked into this store about 7 or 8 months ago. I immediately knew that it was a special place. The store itself had a great, comfortable, safe vibe. The owners, Mike and Yolanda, are the most honest, down-to-earth people you will ever be fortunate enough to meet. They really care about their clients and will do anything within their power to help anyone who reaches out to them. The store itself has all the tools you need to walk your spiritual path. That is YOUR spiritual path. Mike and Yolanda don't try to push their religion on you. They are there to help regardless of whatever path you choose to follow. The items they sell are genuine and affordable. They don't carry the crap you will find in most botanicas. They carefully select each and every item in the store to be sure that the customers will have the most potent tools to help them along their journey through life. I know for a fact that they have discarded certain items that they realized weren't the best they could offer their customers. After visiting this store many times in the past months, I finally got a reading from Mike. I am a magical practitioner myself and don't go to others for readings or spiritual advice, but Mike came to me and offered his help. Let me just say that what happened was mind-blowing. He brought up things that happened 10 years ago that I had never told a single soul. He showed me how negativity from my past is still impacting my life and how to get rid of that negativity to make room for postive changes. He really made me take a long, hard look at myself...and I didn't like what I saw. I am following his advice and am already seeing positive changes in my life. I had been stuck in a very bad, self-destructive dark place for the past decade, and thanks to Mike, I can finally see the sun and all that life has to offer. Botanica Oggun is a must stop for anyone in the Austin area. The owners are friendly...the store is very clean & welcoming...and they stock alot of hard to find items and stuff you won't find anywhere else! I can't say enough good stuff about Botanica Oggun! A+ five stars!

I first visited Botanica Oggun January24th. The shop was recommended to me by a close friend. My first impression was that it was a lovely little shop - very comfortable. Mike the practitioner was with other clients when I walked in and began to look around. As he was talking to them he turned to me and asked, "Who is Brandon?". My nephew's name is Brandon. He then advised me to contact his mother, my sister, and ask her to "keep an eye on him". I did as he requested, I called my sister and in one of the strangest conversations we ever had, I relayed Mike's warning and told her I would call her back later in the evening. I stayed and chatted with Mike for about twenty minutes or so and left for home. On my way I called my sister to follow up and check on Brandon. She proceeded to tell me that once I had told her to keep an eye on him she wasn't quite sure what to do with the warning Mike had sent. She was at a Junior High Basketball game and my nephew was behind the bleachers with some other kids playing around. They were running and sliding on their knees and she noticed a long row of stacked chairs right where they were playing. She said she could just see one of them hitting the legs of the chair and getting hurt. When she started moving the chairs she said she could feel someone watching her and heard someone whistling at her to stop. When she finally moved all the chairs out of the way she looked back to see who was trying to stop her... and there was no-one there. Everyone was turned the other way watching the game. She said at that very moment she felt as if she had just been able to stop something bad from happening to her son. We don't believe this was just a coincidence. I truly believe Mike has a gift and he is willing to share it with all that are in need of help. I would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone.

The folks that own this are good people plain and simple you don't have to believe in or even understand this religion to respect a shop like this. It's run by local people who care about people. Small business owners are few and far between these days. I'm not a believer in this religion but I know this man has a gift, and I know this man has done more for his religious beliefs than most will ever do. Could you imagine sneaking yourself into a third world country to get knowledge about a religion? I couldn't. The man believes in what he does, and his customers believe in him. Thats all that matters. If you ever get a chance to stop and look around take the time and stop in. Don't go in with a closed mind and you might be surprised at what you learn.

Just my story......I strolled over in mid May of 07 for a simple reading. What has happen over the last 15 months has been amazing! Aside from the great reading that you will receive; and by the way as accurate as you can ever imagine. There are several items of interest for those interested in Afro-Caribbean religion or culture. I highly recommend a visit! I have gained great insight and this has allowed me to become more spiritually focused. I have gained peace of mind that I did not have before. My spiritual growth or the awaking is in its infancy, but I am excited at what I see ahead of me. Quiero compartir mi experiencia con "BOTANICA OGGUN" mi historia es algo peculiar.A principios de ano en un dia comun de trabajo manejando por South 1ST consegui "BOTANICA OGGUN" luego de buscar una botanica por mucho tiempo en Austin.Luego de varios fracasados y frustrates intentos para lograr una lectura(reading)algo me decia dentro de mi que regresara y despues de mi insistencia tube el honor de que MIKE(owner) me diera mi lectura (reading).
Recuerdo claramente ese dia que al Mike finalizar mi lectura (reading)la cual no fue muy agradable con lagrimas le pedi a mike que me ayudara a salir del laberinto donde me encontraba,estaba pasando por una etapa muy dificil y confusa en mi vida eso solo fue el inicio de un gran cambio,Desde ese dia en adelante gracias a los consejos y guia de MIKE(Padrino)exelente y especial persona vocero de mis "SANTOS" que estan a mi lado cada dia mi vida dio un gran cambio llenandome de FE, aclarando mi mente para darme cuenta de todas las cosas buenas que hay en mi como ser humano,llenandome de seguridad y buena vibra.Hoy por hoy visito "BOTANICA OGGUN" frecuentemente como parte de mi crecimiento espiritual.

I want to take this time to thank Mike and his wife for helping me out and embracing me with open arms. I walked into Mike's shop about a month ago. I am not the same person I was a month ago. I was lost, I had a negative outlook on life, everything in my life was falling apart including my relationship with family and my spouse. Since I have been following all of Mike's direction's my life has taken a turnaround for the better. I have a positive outlook on life, I am a better person and everyone can see it.I have had a stuggle to change for years and no one has been able to help me until I found this shop. Mike has been there for me every step of the way. I think he is very gifted and knows exactly what he is doing, thanks to God and the Spirits with whom I have a very strong faith in. I learned of Mike's store through a family member, and I am thankful of that. He is very reasonable as far as price goes, by talking with him you can tell he is not in this business for the money, Mike is there to help you out with your problems. I will continue to recommend Mike's work to everyone that I know because I know he can and will help them out.His shop is very peaceful and I consider him and his wife to be Family.

Michael and his wife are some of the greatest people that have crossed my path. I pray that they will be there to walk beside me for the rest of the path that I am to walk.
Till a couple of months ago I had kept my religion secret from everyone. A couple of months ago a friend overheard me asking my father to bring me some candles. He approached me and told me of his Padrino here in Austin. I was like wow, skeptical & really freaked out that someone knew of what I was talking about. There are not many of us out there.
I was always amazed by the artwork painted on the building but I was always scared to stop and go in. Till my friend told me this was the place his Padrino was located at.
I made several appointments to see Padrino. For whatever reason I was unable to keep the first appointments (Padrino does not like it when you no show him). I knew that the bad spirits were keeping me away from seeing him.
Finally, I saw him. I was amazed by his immediate insight as to who you are. He told me how it was and he saw who I was. Of course I was mad because you don't like being called out...But everything was the truth. I was a loud, obnoxiousâ¦crazy girlâ¦
Padrino gives you a lot of advice...a lot of the reality & truths that we have not wanted to faceâ¦If you really want to be healed and live, like I didâ¦you take his words home with you. Let his wisdom and advice sink in. Yeah it is scary and the spirits try not to let you see the big picture. However, remember you are stronger than the spirits.
I was all those thingsâ¦. loud, obnoxiousâ¦crazy girl because I was scared to look in the mirror and see who I really was. I was scared out of my mind. I thought if I acted ugly, then I was bigger than what was really there. It was a scary path to choose, but I am glad I did. The bad spirits try to keep you stuck.
Today I have so much peace. I am no longer scared. I know that my Saints and Padrino will take care of me. Trust!!! Do it with all your heart, with all your faith, mind, and soul. It is such a beautiful world and until you are whole we do not see it because we are insane.
My faith is stronger than all the evil spirits that are out there.
I am calm, collective and know that I can conquer whatever comes my way. Why because I have a Padrino and my Saints that are on my side.
Visit Padrinos Botanica and believe me you will never want to leave that place. You are not there and your whole spirit, mind & body wishes that it was. I can sit there for countless hours and that is the greatest peace that I have known.
Thank you My Saints, Padrino, Yoli and their wonderful kids for who I am today and who I will be TOMORROW.
P.S. My father too travels from afar to see his Padrino...he too is a new man today!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I want to tell my story because I experienced different unexplainable fenomena in my life and the more I searched the more I'd suffer while not finding someone that knew how to handle things like this. I knew that I was not insane since most thing happened while I was awake. It was like having a black cloud over me plus nothing good ever happenig to me regardles of how hard I worked or how honest I was, plus I was being bothered by entities.
Finally one day I was blessed to find Mike online, I immediately visited the store and got a reading.
Mike found what was wrong immediately and he had a plan for me to help my self out of this insanity.
Long story short: I had A Curse on, put by crazy person.
Now my days are very different, I feel more confident; I've not had any huntings anymore.
I know that without Mike this could have not been possible. I want to deeply thank Mike and his wife for helping me so much...Blessings.
Now I have a friend and he is a wonderful person.
I want to recomend him because hi is very professional and he can definitively help you heal your spirit. I believe there is not that many people like him doing this type of spiritual work with such knowledge and honesty.

Imagine what it would be like to live the first 23 years of your life deaf, blind, and dumb. And then one day you get a swift kick in the ass and everything works. The blind fold is off, you can hear and think for yourself. Thats how I've felt since I went to this shop. Mike will give you the truth, straight up, no filter. You don't have to be religious in any sense, cuz I wasn't before I talked to him and I'm still not. But I have faith, and that's all you need. So if you want the truth, go see Mike. But if you can't handle the truth, go watch a Tom Cruise movie.

For about as long as I can remember or at least when I was able to have free will, I was a jerk to everyone, family, friends, even total strangers. I was addicted to drugs, alcohol, just being a worthless waste of space. Then for the past 2 years, I was in a relationship with a wonderful, beautiful woman who gave me a beautiful son. In that 2 years I was an abusive, neglectful man to them both. My actions got the law involved, I lost my home, my family, and respect by my closest friends. About a week after I got out of jail, I went on a path to complete self-destruction, drinking, smoking more and more pot, not caring in the least about ME. I was on the verge of ending it all, until my closest friend, intervened and said to go see Mike. I was lost, broken and desperate for guidance. By the graces of God and the Saints, I made it to go see Mike, and I was absolutely blown away by the things he told me. To be honest it had me scared, I never knew I was that bad to people and myself. In the short time I have met with my Padrino, I got to see my son, me and his mother are slowly working on our relationship, I'm working on my sobriety, starting to love life more, I got a new job, and the most important I am talking to my mother again. All in all, I'm working on being a better person. I am really grateful for these blessings that I have had the pleasure to have. I am really grateful and blessed to have Mike as my Padrino, my friend and my belief in a Higher Power. I just want to thank Him from the bottom of my heart for not giving up on me at times when he should have. He and his wife Yolanda are two of the greatest people I have met. Great parents, people that I strive to want to be toward my son. And I know I will.
Anybody that is in need of guidance or direction in their life should go see Mike. You will never know until you find out.

Botanica Oggun has definetly been a miracle worker for my husband and I. I never expected to walk in to this place and it turn out to be exactly what i wanted it to be. My husband and I had been struggling to get pregnant for about a year and a half. My husband told me about Mike and I decided to give it a try. I didn't have as much Faith in this in the beggining but by the time I walked out of there i definantly became a believer. We went in sometime in July of 2007. He gave me the cleanse and told me that by the end of 2007 I would be pregnant. Well turns out today I found out I am five and a half weeks pregnant!!!! That means i got pregnant the first week of Decemeber! We are so happy and I can't believe it finally happened. A year and a half of waiting has seemed like an eternity to us until we went to Botanica Oggun. My self esteem went up and I just felt this calmness going through my body. We are so thankful to Mike and his wife because they have great Faith and are truly good people. He definetly knows what he's doing and I recommend you go to him for anything you need. He will not let you down. He gives great advice and he truly cares about your health and sanity.

What makes this Botanica so wonderful would be my Padrino and his wife, Yolie. Good people, and honest to a fault - my Padrino always, ALWAYS tells it like it is. If you're looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear, this is NOT the place for you. But... if it's the TRUTH you're looking for, then you've found the right botanica.
Warm and welcoming, my Padrino Mike is excellent at explaining things about the religion of Santeria and breaking it all down so that you never feel like a dummy for not knowing (unless you don't take the Padrino's advice after you've consulted with him - because, hey! He TOLD you so!) One of the hard lessons I have learned from my Padrino: It's not easy to hear what you have known for a while but couldn't admit, but once you do, it means that you have an opportunity to act in a positive way so that you can make some beneficial decisions to get your life back on track.
Mike wants the best for all those he works with: If you are willing to accept the help of the saints, if you are willing to discipline yourself to follow their advice, you'll find yourself walking a better, more productive life path and waking up to a beautiful world.

People are entitled to believe whatever they want to believe.After all,this is still a free country.And faith is evidence of things unseen.So it's OK if you don't believe in any type of higher power.I don't believe in any religion forcing it's doctrines and dogma on anyone.But what i do believe and have faith in is between me and the higher power i choose to direct my prayers toward.I believe that my life changed for the better the moment i stepped into this shop and shook the hand of it's owner.In the relatively short time i've been consulting with Brother Mike at Botanica Oggun, i've learned a great deal about the Spirit world that co-exists with the natural world and a great deal more than i knew before about human nature.It seems that no matter what,some people are just not satisfied with their lives but still feel like they can offer others advice on how to live theirs.My opinion is to each his own,and unhappy people ought to leave happy people alone.
Anyone who has met Mike and his wife will testify that these are two of the most honestly Spiritual people they have ever met. They are also loving,attentive parents,struggling to raise a family in these troubled times we live in,with a legitimate,thriving small business.I am proud to call Mike my friend.I am Honored that he is my Padreno.

Botanica Oggun - My Padrino and Yolanda have been there for me since the first day I walked into the shop. I was so lost when I walked in and I just didn't know in what direction I was going in I pretty much cried every day and worried so much about where my life was taking me. They have helped me so much and have helped me see the positive side of life. Padrino tells me like it is and everything turns out exactly like he tells me. No lies! Simply the truth! My life has been a big journey with many sad stories but today with the help of my Padrino I am on the road to a happy ending. My faith is so strong and I know God and all my saints are always with me. My Padrino and his wife Yolanda are great people and I recommend them very highly! They are honest people.

This place has changed my life forever! I had my first reading with Mike back in December of 2007. I was not ready for what I was told. Here is my story.....
I was brought here my a friend and after my 3rd visit I finally got a reading. I have never had any real faith in anything at all. Mike told me things and knew things about me that I have NEVER told anyone, EVER! A lot of issues were brought to light and now the blinders are off. I feel like I have been living my entire life without any real direction.
Now I have no excuses for anything anymore. I am working on the things about myself that I want to change and I can't thank Mike & Yolanda enough for the guidance they have given to me. I am proud to call them friends now.

I found this cool little place on Google when I was searching the Internet for a local Botanica. I am new to the Austin area and I used to go to a botanica in my home state (Florida) which I loved. I had high standards to live up to and this place exceeded them!
First off this place is the cleanest Botanica I have ever seen. They have everything you would ever need from herbal baths to beautiful sterling silver jewelry. They offer readings from the Santero (Mike) for a very reasonable price of $30. I had a reading with Mike and he un-earthed some demons I have been trying to bury for quite a while now. I am currently dealing with all of my problems the right way instead of running from them. With the help of my Santero of course!

I just want to let the public know it's been a pleasure for me going to see Mike 3 months ago I was a junkie and alcoholic and going to see him has made a big change in my life I did baths for a week and soaps and from then on I've been clean. It feels good to be sober and realize what is going on in the real world. Also being a mom feels real good. It feels good being clean and sober thanks to Mike making this happen for me I would recommend anyone to his shop he has been a great person and very helpful to me. I also would recommend his soaps, candles,oils etc. they work REALLY good.I also would like to thank his wife Yolanda she is awesome. I'm so happy to say that today May16,2008 makes 4 months of being SOBER and CLEAN.
