As a middle-aged Anglo female who attends a progressive Methodist church, I'm probably not a typical client for Michael or his store. Fortunately for me, however, Michael’s insights, perspectives, and suggestions are big enough, and also precise enough, to be exactly what I need to hear. He treats his clients with respect and sensitivity, no matter what their background or belief system.
I’ve had readings with Michael 3 times since summer 2010; my most recent visit was 1/19/2012. Each time I’ve met with him, he has been perceptive, honest, understanding, straightforward, and caring. His gifts are evident in the beneficial information that he provides and the useful recommendations he makes for improving one’s life. He can be tough at times, but he’s never mean or thoughtless; he doesn’t use fear tactics or negativity to make his points. He definitely doesn’t let you get away with excuses or self-pity or attitude – but that’s a good thing! With input from his spirit helpers, he offers specific guidance to help you deal with your problems/circumstances and move beyond them into a better place: mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Over the years, I’ve been to several other people in town who call themselves psychics or spiritual directors; they charge 2 to 3 times as much as Michael does, yet they aren’t even half as helpful as he is. He could easily make a lot more money by raising his rates, but he doesn’t do this work to get rich. He does it because it’s a calling, it’s his purpose, it’s who he is. (Also, I think he wants to keep his services accessible to lots of people, which is another basis for why his rates are still so reasonable.)
After my first reading with Michael, I saw several necklaces and other items in his store that I wanted to buy. However, he recommended that I carry out the ritual he’d prescribed and work on the related issues before I started adding jewelry, statues, etc. that might complicate everything. It’s very rare to find someone in business who’s more concerned about your well-being than his profits! That example alone convinced me of Michael’s good intentions and trustworthiness.
I’m grateful that Michael has chosen to share his spiritual gifts with others. He and his wife Yolanda provide a much-needed service (and products) for their clientele. If you have a reading with Michael, expect to receive the spiritual tools you’ll need to grow and change. The work is up to you, but he’ll support you wholeheartedly in your efforts.

Here's the thing about Michael: he's honest, something that's hard to find in people these days. You may not like what he tells you at first, but if you open your mind, you'll see that everything he tells you is true and with good intention. The first time I met Michael he told me things I didn't like and things I didn't even realize I do. He really gave me a reality check. Because of him, I'm on the back on the right track. Como describir algo que no puedo describir con palabras por lo increible, todo lo que buscaba a mis interrogantes las encontre, pero mas que encontrar a alguien a quien consultar encontre una persona en quien confiar, me refiero a un a amistad que se encuentra desde el momento que entras a botanica OGGUN, se que ahora toca mi parte y doy todos los dias GRACIAS A DIOS, por haber ido hasta alli sino aun estaria perdida en mi misma. Si trataramos de evaluar con estrellas yo daria 10 estrellas porque 5 no son suficiente.Solo digo si buscas un lugar a donde ir y si tienes FE en que la vida te ha dado un camino para encontrar una solucion o encontrarte a ti mismo ve a la Botanica Oggun en Austin.

Mike at Botanica Oggun is awesome to work with. He helped me by answering the questions I needed and making me see that there are certain things in my life that I need to change in order to go back to my roots. He told me things I did not want to hear because I always want things to go my way, but they were and are necessary for me to listen to and understand! He worked with me through many interruptions on my part and allowed me the opportunity to change my path in life. He helped my health tremendously and has saved me from a catastrophic health experience! I am grateful and thankful for Mike and for the difference he has made in my life and in my health.

I have gone to a few places in town and no one has been ableto tell me details like Michael did. He is honest upfront and gave me details of my life I have only discussed with aselect few without me saying a word. I was blown away by his accuracy. Hereally opened my eyes to a lot that I have chosen to put blinders on about. Afterleaving my consultation with him I felt at peace and left knowing what I haveto do and direction I need to take to get me back on the right path. Before going to see Michael my life was full of confusion, hurt and anger. He mentioned things that happened to me that only God knew about me. The Spirits definitely work through him. I asked some questions that was plaguing me for a long time. I was able to get closure. I'm a work in progress, but now I know for a fact that I'm on my way to a better way of life. Before Meeting My Godfather And His Family, My Life Was Pretty Bad. I Used To Carry A Load On My Back And Didn't Know How To Say "No"! My Life Changed For The Better Once I Met Him. I Was Stressed Out All The Time, Always In The Hurry, Moving Too Fast. Now My Life Is A lot Better Due To Mike & Yolanda, They Taught Me A lot. They Have Been A Big Help To My Children And I. I Thank God For Having Them In My Life. Mike Is Very Loyal And Sicks To His Word, No Matter What Time Of The Day He's There For Me Giving Me Advice. He Is A True Friend I Can Count On. Without Him I Wouldn't Know What To Do, He Does Miracles For Us. One Thing He Taught Me Is "You Got To Have Trust In Your Self And Your Saints And Anything & Everything Is Possible"! Ive been living very difficult months this past year and looking for spiritual help in the wrong places. I found Mikes number by what seemed a coincidence online, but after talking to Mike for about 15 minutes over the phone I realized it was God who lead me to him. I didn't have to say much at all, just in the first minutes of our conversion Mike knew who I was, what I've been thru, and what I needed. He not once sold me anything, reeled me into anything...
On the contrary, he couldn't see me or "help" me like I was hoping... just now anyway. Just in one conversation, and without physically meeting him, he directed me in the path I should've never fallen off from!
Thank you Mike!! I've got three months to get myself "back together again" it seems too long, but with Gods help, I pray Ill have his blessing to be take under your wing.... "-)

Michael is the real thing!! I went in with a real low self-esteem about my whole life situation. He told me things about myself & my family that no one else could know. He spoke nothing but the truth. Just talking to him made me feel better and made me realize I needed to take back control of my life. He told me to have faith. He never tried to push a cleansing or any products on me. Michael just told me to call or come by anytime I needed. Since then I have returned for a cleansing . I know it will take time to see change in my life, but already I am feeling better. Michael and his wife, Yolonda are humble people. You don't see that anymore. Usually people like them are trying to get rich off people like me.

I went to botanica oggun at a time when I was really feeling lost in the direction that my life was going. I needed clarity and through Michael I was able to gain that.
Michael was able to tell me things in which there was no way he could of known. Seeing this made me realize the level of his authenticity. So what do you do when you find something good? Well,... you go back. And so I have and I've never been disappointed. I agree with the other reviewers that he "will" tell you how it is and you may "not" like
what you hear. But your not going there to hear what you want to hear. Your going there to hear something that will help you so that you can move forward in your life.

Just want to thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. Thanks to you and madrina i have becomed a better person. When i first went to your shop i was in the verge of losing my marriage,my business and my children. You were strong enough to open my eyes and see that i needed to change to better my self and in the process i have grown and learned so much from you. sometimes The truth is hard to hear but you cared enough to point it out and tell me i had to change. Thanks to you and your family i now feel content and peaceful with my self. Today i am in a good marriage, 25 years and counting, i am able to work part time and i am making as much as full time and i have a new addition to my family. I feel complete. I just wanted to share my experience at this place for others thinking about going there. This is definitely not like a card or palm reading place, it's different. I went there with the intention of going there for a reading and move on, wanted to find out what could be wrong with me, why I had just been feeling so off, and ended up finding myself. Michael has a true gift, he could tell me things about myself and my family, things that I had been feeling and that I hadn't mentioned to anybody, his readings are accurate but be ready to hear the truth, even if it pisses you off. Michael is really open and honest, he will tell you what you need to do to improve your situation. He has a gianormous heart and his wife is the nicest. I'm so thankful I have found this place and found these wonderful people. Only a couple of days after talking to Michael for the first time and doing a cleansing, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder and I feel like I'm coping with things better. If you have the opportunity to come meet these people, please do, you will not regret it!

Tengo que darle mil gracias a Mike, primero por mantener su botanica en un area al alcance de todos, con precios moderados para todo bolsillo, y tambien por especial forma de aconsejar a todo el que llega a su puerta sin condiciones. Mi hijo esta comenzando a interesarse en la Regla de Ocha y fuimos a conseguir unos productos que necesitaba para unos banos, asi fue que conoci a Mike.
Al entrar fue como si el estuviera viendo una pelicula de la vida de mi hijo y sus consejos para mi hijo fueron de mucho bien, en especial porque aunque hace tiempo tengo Santo coronado, mi hijo sintio la verdad de los consejos de la Ocha desde una nueva perspectiva, no del punto de vista de su madre nada mas.. Ashe , una y otra vez para ti , Mike. En una segunda ocacion necesite de la ayuda del Mike para saber donde conseguir para un Ebbo y a pesar de estar en un vuelo de viaje a Chicago, me instruyo y dio animo para recordarme pedirle ayuda a Echu. Asi lo hice y al amanecer consegui lo que necesitaba y era dificil encontrar. Gracias Mike por estar ahi para los que practicamos esta forma de vida tan bella que es la Regla de Ocha.

I talked with Michael for the first time and I was completely happy with the experience I had. He really helped me put things back in to perspective. He advised me of what I needed to do in order to take care of myself and my family. I really didn't have to tell him a whole lot about myself, he already knew. I am very happy with my overall experience. Also, Michael's wife is very sweet and helpful as well. I recommend anyone who is really serious about change and living a good life to go here. I can't praise Botanica Oggun enough! This is a authentic botanica that cares more about serving customers than making a quick buck. Each time I have visited the store, Michael has taken time to talk to me personally and has given me extremely helpful advice. He was able to tell me things that he had no way of knowing; he has a true gift. Both times I entered the store looking to buy certain products, and Michael actually talked me out of it! He took time to advise me on the repercussions of careless use of products, performed a powerful limpia, and helped me focus on more positive paths. He could have easily sold me products to make a quick buck, but this store is more dedicated to education and truly helping people. The homemade soaps are great and there are products for every need, along with the instruction on how to use them - which is most important!

My visits with my padrino (Mike) has been the most joyful and wonderful experience ever . I am thankful for the advice and the peace of mind he has given me. I have been going through a rough journey in life and felt I had nobody by my side. I was taken advantage of in many ways from my family and friends. I have found the courage and strength day by day to let no one take advantage of me and speak up for myself. We went to Michael in March for a reading after my husband was accused of something he didn't do and Michael told us not to worry that everything was going to be ok we stayed in faith and even when we got desperate after going to court month after month we would call him and he kept telling us that we needed to dig deeper in faith. Well we went to court and just like Michael told us his case was dismissed. We are so greatful to Michael. He never once tried to sell us limpias or anything, his advise was always look to faith. I first met Mike in 2008, I walked into the botanica in tears. I was feeling so much pain and sorrow. I had just received the worst news a mother could ever recieve. My unborn child growing inside me was ill and would go to be with the lord. Mike sat down with me and consoled me. His honesty and open heart helped me feel so much better. I am so greatful for his kind words that he gave me on that day. I will forever be thankful! I went back to Mike this year for a reading. I was lost and didn't know which direction my life was going to take me. I felt empty and alone. I was seeking the truth and he sure did give it too me. He opened my eyes and my heart! I went to see Micheal for a Consulta limpia on 8/8/11. I am going through a very bad time in my life. A few months ago I was falsely arrested for assault by my wife. I am facing a divorce and losing my kids. My wife is not helping me at all. She is doing identity theft with my social. I was looking at losing my job, and spending a year in jail. When I saw Michael he told me that I was depressed, lost. He told me that I needed to find my faith, and things would work out. On my case he told me that my lawyer was no good. I fired the lawyer and hire a different one. Next day we want to court settled my case no jail time. At work Michael told me thing would work out, or quit I don't need the stress. My position at work there are 4 of us we run four teams. I am over paid and they are trying to cut there budget. So they were trying to get rid of me. One girl quit thursday so they need to keep me now and it ease's there budget. Michael told me to find my faith. Be patient and things will fall into place. I have since found my faith I am a much happier person. Thanks to Michael! He is a stand up Guy!

WOW!...... I went to go see Michael months ago with my mother to get some guidance on some family matters. His reading was intensely accurate with very little information given to him. After following his suggestions, I couldn't believe what a wonderful turn around that my mom and I were experiencing. I feel I can't thank him enough for all his help. Not to mention, his wife, Yolanda was so dear and a joy to talk with while waiting for my reading.

Después de haber tenido una lectura a distancia por Michael muy impactante que removio cosas muy dolorosas pero ciertas de mi pasado y mi presente, con muchos esfuerzos economicos y de salud (gracias a mi hija y mi yerno) vine expresamente de Colombia a ver a Michael, quien despues de una lectura mas completa me hizo una limpia. Un mes despues de esa limpia, puedo decir que me siento como una persona completamente renovada en el aspecto espiritual y moral, y sentimentalmente ya entiendo el por que de muchas cosas y me siento segura de lo que quiero. Y lo mas impactante es que, a pesar de que aun tengo un camino largo que recorrer en mi recuperacion, los problemas de salud mas fuertes, junto con la ansiedad, los miedos y el estres se han ido reduciendo de forma increible. Came here to seek help in guidance for job wise and in my love department and having a consultation with Mike was amazing experiences of my life. He was on the POINT about a lot of things going on in my life at this time. Without saying to much about why I came here and what I asked for. May I say this is a place where your prayers will be listened to and answered. This shop has a variety of candles, herbs, oils and other items as well. Not only this shop has a large variety of things but the shop is so organized and clean and the welcoming service is so warming and caring. The owners Mike and Yolanda are very respectful people, very down to earth and I highly recommend this place. I myself will be going back and visit them time and time. :)

Yo tenia muchos problemas hasta que un dia encontre un angel en mi camino. Lo encontre en La Botanica Oggun y en Mike. Me ayudo encontrar mi misma y abrir las puerta espurituales.
